Area universities have obtained grants totaling more than $190 million from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.
The single largest local recipient of recovery money is the University of Pennsylvania, which has been awarded 293 grants totaling $163 million.
Drexel University was awarded 43 grants totaling $14.2 million and Temple University received 39 grants totaling $12.2 million.
