Services for Alumni & Donors

Library Cards
Duke alumni and retirees may qualify for free library privileges. Visit the Lilly or Perkins circulation desk to request a library card. Friends of the Library may bring the cards sent in their introductory packets to receive their library cards.
Loan Periods
Most items may be borrowed for four weeks, although others may request items after two weeks. There is no two-week guaranteed loan period for books recalled for use by Reserves. Books may be renewed if they have not been requested by other patrons.

Online Databases
The Duke University Libraries and the Duke University Alumni Association provide access to a set of online resources to all Duke alumni. To access these databases, register with the Duke Alumni Directory. Then click on "Library Databases." If you have questions about these resources, you may use the chat box to get real-time assistance from reference librarians.
